A living space conceived as a living painting
Bathed in natural light and benefiting from a dual exposure, the apartment opens onto uninterrupted views of the Canal Saint-Martin and its locks, offering a constantly evolving spectacle throughout the day. The bow window, a defining feature of the living room, frames the reflections of water, passing boats and the lush vegetation lining the quays, creating a poetic and ever-changing backdrop. The generous living area is structured around a bespoke walnut and marble kitchen, conceived as a central architectural element. A custom-designed banquette, integrated from the early design stages, defines the dining area and allows the space to accommodate numerous guests in a convivial yet elegant atmosphere.
Dialogue of materials and furniture architecture
The project is built around a strong dialogue between two major elements: on one side, the walnut kitchen with its warm and generous lines; on the other, the home office and library area, dominated by a monumental natural oak bookcase measuring six metres in length and two and a half metres in height. Crafted by French artisans, this bespoke bookcase becomes a true architectural feature, structuring the space and reinforcing the vertical rhythm of the living room. It engages in direct visual dialogue with the walnut kitchen, creating a balanced and symmetrical composition in which custom-made furniture becomes an integral part of the architecture itself.
Craftsmanship and sculptural lighting
Particular attention was given to lighting design and artisanal elements. Throughout the apartment, organic-shaped ceramic ceiling lights and wall sconces, handcrafted by Spanish artisans, bring movement, texture and chromatic depth to the interiors. These sculptural luminaires enhance the warmth of the space while reinforcing the project’s artisanal identity. In circulation areas and living spaces, textured ceiling lights by Helena Tynell, an iconic figure of Nordic design, punctuate the ceilings with their graphic presence and soft light diffusion, introducing a subtle and elegant mid-century influence. The living room is further animated by majestic Romeo Rega floor lamps, iconic pieces of 1970s Italian design, whose sculptural brass structures interact with the natural materials and vibrant tones of the project.
Collectible design, iconic pieces and contemporary accents
While deeply rooted in a mid-century and artisanal aesthetic, the project also embraces a distinctly contemporary dimension through carefully curated signature pieces. In the living room, the Bubble Curve sofa by Roche Bobois, selected in a bold cobalt blue shade, introduces a strong sculptural presence. Its generous curves and enveloping volume contrast elegantly with the architectural rigor of the oak bookcase and the structured lines of the bespoke furniture. This iconic piece becomes a chromatic focal point, injecting contemporary energy and visual intensity into the space. The dining area features a restored set of chairs by Silvio Coppola, a key figure in Italian design, whose timeless and restrained lines complement the monumental walnut and marble kitchen. In the home office, a pair of Edmund Homa armchairs offers a subtle nod to the studio’s Polish heritage. These emblematic pieces of Eastern European modernism bring structure, graphic clarity and elegance in dialogue with the monumental bookcase. In the bedrooms, the narrative continues with Italian mid-century bedside tables, paired with table lamps by Georges Pelletier, adding an artisanal and graphic layer to the nighttime atmosphere.
Master suites and sensory cocoons
The two main bedrooms were redesigned as true master suites, each featuring its own private bathroom accessed through a custom-designed architectural archway. This transition marks the entrance into a more intimate and protective universe. Inside the bathrooms, handcrafted zellige tiles play a central role. Their irregular texture, chromatic depth and luminous reflections enhance the enveloping and sensory quality of the spaces. Combined with natural textiles, wood finishes and mineral surfaces, these materials create a soft, calming and tactile atmosphere. The custom banquettes and beds, entirely designed by the studio, were crafted by trusted artisan partners in Poland, reflecting a constant pursuit of excellence in craftsmanship, precision of assembly and seamless architectural integration. Each piece was conceived as a natural extension of the space, without visual disruption or aesthetic compromise.
A contemporary narrative between heritage and modernity

Blending mid-century references, noble materials, vibrant color palettes and abundant natural light, this family apartment becomes a refined yet welcoming living environment — deeply rooted in its Parisian context while asserting a strong and distinctive identity.
